"The School of Athens" -

Is a renowned fresco painting by the Italian High Renaissance artist Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino).

It was painted between 1509 and 1511 as part of his commission to decorate the rooms now known as the Stanze di Raffaello located in the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican.

The painting depicts a congregation of famous ancient Greek philosophers, mathematicians, and scientists, including Plato and Aristotle at the center.

It is considered one of Raphael's greatest masterpieces and a quintessential work of the High Renaissance, celebrated for its classical antiquity, harmonious composition, and linear perspective.
